WILDERKILL RETREAT

Co-Founder and manager at Wilderkill, a fourteen-acre property in the Hudson Valley that faces the ridgeline of the Catskill Mountains. Wilderkill is a place of retreat, community, and reflection, where small groups and families can gather to contemplate how to be human in the midst of a climate crisis, and how we might build sustainable social, economic, and ecological support systems for our local communities in the coming decades.

As an ongoing project, my role includes creating, hosting, and managing the property—a getaway for small-scale retreats (yoga, team building, meditation, company intensives), events, and family/friends gatherings. Additionally, envisioning a fully developed hospitality project that includes the expansion to a bathhouse/spa, cabins, and dining spaces and experiences.

Located in Saugerties, NY, 1.5 hours from NYC, Wilderkill has 14 acres of field and forest, including a tennis court, pool, and pond with expansive views of the Catskill Mountains.

Currently the property features two independent live/works spaces, including an 1820s farmhouse (3+ bedrooms) and a recently converted modern barn (3+ bedrooms) which features several large rooms to gather teams, retreats and events. In addition to the two buildings we recently designed/built two glamping tents, an additional wood-burning sauna, and an outdoor/compost bathroom.

For this ongoing project, the branding and identity are focused on illustrating the seasonal versatility of the property and connecting with the communities in our region. For example, our very thorough "Insider's Guide to Wilderkill" document contains all the information about the property and surrounding area, including restaurants, shopping, and outdoor/indoor activities, among others, to compel guests to connect with the place.
